A&DD student won D&AD Award for Type-centric Design for Social Good

A Type of Refugee is a typographic campaign that addresses the racial bias attached to refugee news coverage. Despite Article 14 of the UDHR stating that “everyone has the right to seek and to enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution”, this does not stop mass media from dehumanizing and diminishing those involved.

A&DD Ranked #3 in the World By One Club of Creativity at 2022 Young One Student Award

FIT Advertising & Digital  Design BFA program ranked #3 in the 2022 Young Ones student competition including one Gold Pencil and two bronze pencils. In addition, A&DD seniors also won three Young Ones ADC awards: a Silver, Bronze, and Merit Award.

Creative Conscience Awards

FIT Advertising & Digital  Design students have won seventeen Creative Conscience Awards including a Gold, Silver, two Bronze awards, and two Highly Commended. The Creative Conscience is a creative community and global not-for-profit organization that believes that creative thinking and innovation can make positive change.

Young Ones Student Awards

FIT’s Advertising & Digital Design BFA students have been honored with one gold, one silver, one bronze, and two merit awards by the One Club of Creativity. The Young Ones competition is one of the most acclaimed advertising, interactive, and design student competitions. It has a tradition of excellence dating back to 1986.

Young Ones ADC Awards

FIT’s Advertising & Digital Design BFA students won one silver and two merit awards in the Young Ones ADC competition. The ADC Annual Awards, part of The One Club for Creativity, is the oldest continuously running industry award show in the world. Now heading into its incredible 101st year, these Awards celebrate the very best in advertising, digital media, graphic and publication design, packaging and product design, motion, experiential and spatial design, photography, illustration, and fashion design all with a focus on artistry and craftsmanship.

Next Creative Leaders 2020

Astrid Andujar, A&DD class of 2013, has been honored with a Next Creative Leaders 2020 from One Club. Formerly at Grey, MRM//McCann, and currently at Droga5, her recent projects included a dog adoption campaign for Facebook, an immersive art installation for Thorne, and an at-home Broadway musical to raise funds for essential workers affected by COVID-19. She’s a proud member of the ADCOLOR family as an Advisory Board member and served as a mentor for Women Who Create and The Knowledge House.

Creative Conscience Awards

A&DD class of 2020: Hira Ali, Ashley Aviles, Angela Diep, Sarika Persaud, and Lauren Steigerwald, won a Silver Experience Design Award at Creative Conscience 2020. In total, A&DD won 1 Silver, 2 Bronze, 3 Highly Commended, and 16 entries on Shortlist. The Creative Conscience Awards is a platform for new and innovative ideas that encompass and encourage world-changing creativity.

A&DD x MLB Brand Experience Design

A&DD faculty and students teamed up with the Major League Baseball to create new product designs and campaigns. Twelve students from A&DD were selected to work on this 6-month project sponsored by MLB. The winning concept, the Doodle Collection, was conceived and designed by Alison Quagliato, Samantha Montero, and Anika Grube. This new design will be available worldwide in 2021.

2020 YOUNG ONES AWARDS

A&DD seniors Margaret Panoti, Yuliya Kosheeva, and Din Terpuni won the 2020 YOUNG ONES Gold Pencil in the Experiential Catagory. A&DD won 1 gold, 2 bronze, and 3 merit awards this year making it one of the most award-winning design programs in the world. This year, A&DD ranked 4th in the USA.

A&DD x Girl Scouts Brand Experience Design

A&DD faculty and students created an online fashion experience for the launch of the new Girl Scouts uniform designed by the FIT fashion students. This online store page is an industry-sponsored Guided Experiential Learning project.

Type Directors Club Scholarship Award 2020

A&DD senior, Yulia Kosheeva, has been selected for the 2020 Type Directors Club Scholarship Award. Every year, TDC honors up to seven students with the TDC Scholarship, a $1,000 award recognizing their achievements in and appreciation for typography in design.

A&DD faculty and students interviewed by Adobe to discuss UX design education at FIT. CJ Yeh, Christie Shin, Tan Brown, and Anders Axel Wallace shared their thoughts and experience teaching, learning, as well as applying their creativity to this fast-growing and exciting field.

For more than thirty years, The One Club for Creativity has been showcasing the ingenuity of students and young professionals.
