Concrete and proven methodologies will be taught that will enhance your creativity. You will be given the conceptual tools that will push your creativity and prepare you to become one of the new creatives.

JOE STALUPPI
Co-Chair, Advertising & Digital Design BFA Curriculum
In the past decade, Joe has completely transformed A&DD curriculum to prepare the students for creative excellence in the digital age. The students in his courses have won Young One Gold, Silver and Bronze pencils, D&AD New Blood Yellow and Graphite pencils, Creative Conscience awards, Collegiate Effie Finalist, and Leuzer Student contests.
Before teaching at FIT, Joe had done many brand-building campaigns for clients such as Crest, Norelco, Pampers, Black & Decker, New Jersey Tourism, and Lottery while working at Y&R, DMB&B, Bozell and McCann Erickson. Those campaigns won over 50 creative awards including The One Show, The Clio, The ANDY, The ADDY, and The International Advertising Festival of NY Gold Medal, the CA Advertising Annual, and Adweek’s Best Spots.
C.J. Yeh
Co-Chair, Advertising & Digital Design BFA Curriculum
C.J. Yeh is a world-renowned expert in branding and experience design. He has published eight books to date, several of which have been adopted by universities in Taiwan as textbooks. His work has been exhibited at some of the most famous museums in the world including MAXXI Museum and New Museum. C.J. has won multiple teaching awards including the FIT President’s Award for Faculty Excellence, the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, and the Adobe Educators’ Choice Awards.
C.J. is the founder and Executive Creative Director of Cynda Media Lab, an award-winning interdisciplinary design studio. Cynda Media Lab’s venerable client list includes Disney music legend Alan Menken, technology giant Google, internationally-renowned institution MIT, and the world’s leading toy design company GUND.
Christie Shin
Professor and Coordinator, Creative Technology & Design
Christie Shin has more than 25 years of professional experience as an educator, creative consultant, and design director specializing in branding, typography, UX/UI design, and product design. Shin is one of the most award-winning designers receiving over 40 international design awards since 2012. Currently, Shin is an associate professor at FIT, where she was awarded the 2017 FIT Faculty Excellence Award.
Shin has lectured and presented her creative work and research internationally at some of the world’s most prestigious art schools, including the Rhode Island School of Design, Cornell University, the National Taiwan University of Arts, and Hongik University in South Korea.
Tom McManus
Assistant Chair, Communication Design Pathways
Tom McManus is an award-Winning Creative Director with expertise in both agency and corporate environments. Led $20 million to $300 million transitions from traditional to integrated media content provider for client Samsung. Launch team member supervising Droga 5 on “Pru Challenge Lab” microsite, winner of the 2013 Cannes Titanium Lion.
Tom has done award-winning project for some of the most recognized brands in the world including Samsung, Warner Brothers, Prudential, and Absolut.
Jada Schumacher
Professor, Communication Design Pathways
Jada Schumacher is Founding Director of Design Orange LLC, a studio providing numerous ethically-made and sustainably-produced product collections. A seasoned educator and academic, she has significant experience writing university curricula—including an ambitious stand-alone multi-disciplinary program specialized in color (from physics to psychology to art)— and assessing educational programs.
In addition, she is an active lecturer and researcher, speaking on color and light around the globe. She was the keynote speaker at El Salvador Color Week’s Color Conference in San Salvador and has given talks at Harvard University and the renowned College Art Association Conference.
